This is a short-term, temporary contract role for onsite support at the TEDMonterey conference in Monterey, California. You may be asked to work some or all of the dates between July 26-August 4, 2021.
As a Name Badge Assistant, you’ll divide your time between creating name badges and greeting attendees. You’ll support the Name Badge Coordinator by creating and printing attendee name badges, using InDesign templates and tools and resources provided by TED to ensure each name badge meets TED’s quality standards. During the conference, you’ll act as the first point of contact welcoming each attendee to the conference and providing a warm and authentic check-in experience. You’ll answer attendee questions related to programming and activities, and be responsible for escalation of any issues to the designated TED contact.
You’re a brand ambassador and a people person with prior customer service experience and excellent interpersonal communication skills. You’re comfortable assisting high-profile guests with discretion and tact, actively listening to requests and taking the temperature of a situation before reacting. You’re self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal oversight. You have an eye for detail and work well under time pressure.
This position involves standing for long periods and participating in some physical work and lifting up to 30lbs.
