TEDx is growing rapidly. The TEDx Licensing Team receives over 100 applications every week from amazing individuals all over the world who want to organize TEDx events. In order to quickly assess them we need to get certain information, fast - including details around the local community, it’s culture, customs, and media landscape.
In regions where the TEDx platform is experiencing rapid and sustained growth, we’d like to have some of this knowledge at the ready. We’re looking for a Regional Licensing Fellow with familiarity around India or China - not limited to: trends, prominent topics, event traditions, and the current media landscape.
Your primary responsibility will be to help our team review applications against specific criteria. This involves a great deal of web work which will be supplemented with the understanding of the region you’ve already started to build through your previous research and studies: you will need zealous attention to detail and a defiant attitude towards repetition.
A few skills you can expect to practice or learn: web research, interview skills, fact checking, systems management and the ability to express a succinct opinion that informs decisions.
To Apply: Please submit a resume AND a cover letter that (a) explains why this program is a good fit for you, (b) includes links to samples of your previous work, eg. an article you wrote, research paper on which you were a collaborator or a site to which you contributed, and (c) a community you’d have specific insight into that would help us license with more context and understanding.
Due to the high volume of applications, only considered candidates will be notified.
This is a paid 6-month position, based at our NYC office. Only candidates applying within the greater NYC metro area will be considered. Telecommuting is not possible.
TED Conferences LLC is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We invite all qualified candidates to apply online with their resume.
