This is a short-term, temporary contract role for onsite support at the TEDMonterey conference in Monterey, California. You may be asked to work some or all of the dates between July 26-August 4, 2021.
As an Events Assistant, you’ll support the Experience Production team with TED’s social activities -- workshops, lunches, dinners, evening events and the wellness program. You’ll help run and oversee these events, including supervising staff, setting up and tearing down, managing event schedules, assisting with transportation and wayfinding, managing guest lists, and acting as a greeter for attendees.
You’re a brand ambassador and a people person with prior customer service experience and excellent interpersonal communication skills. You’re comfortable assisting high-profile guests with discretion and tact, actively listening to requests and taking the temperature of a situation before reacting. You’re proactive and resourceful, able to think critically when solving problems and making effective decisions quickly. You manage competing priorities with minimal oversight and follow instructions well. You’re highly organized and extremely detail-oriented - nothing escapes your notice!
This position involves working early mornings and late nights, walking and standing for long periods, and being able to participate in some physical work and heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.
